Casual Black Dress in Beacon Hill

If you ask me to tell you my favorite neighborhood in Boston, my opinion would be about as fickle as Bennett’s in a room full of toys.

If I’m hungry, I’d probably answer the North End, thinking about my favorite calamari. If I’m daydreaming of an afternoon of amazing shopping, I’d probably answer Back Bay, thinking about strolling down Newbury Street. However, whenever I’m in Beacon Hill I’m reminded that there is no part of any city more picturesque or historically charming.

You lose your sense of century when walking through the narrow cobblestone streets surrounded by Federal-style row homes. And when there I can’t help but feel a great sense of nostalgia as the burning gaslights and architecture remind me of Savannah’s Historic District.

A casual black dress is one of those pieces that belongs in every woman’s wardrobe. There are endless ways to accessorize it and create various outfits. So, you’ll be seeing more of this dress 🙂 I love the relaxed fit, and it is so soft and comfortable that sometimes I’m tempted to sleep in it.

Although I’m from Savannah, I have retired walking down cobblestone streets in anything but tennis shoes, especially since I usually have Bennett in the carrier. So on this trip to Beacon Hill I chose to wear the dress simply with my Chucks and small crossbody bag.

If you’re visiting Boston, you should definitely carve out some time to wander the streets of Beacon Hill. The whole area is so photogenic it is as if the 18th century was preserved in a square mile.
