By the end of this first session he was naturally kicking his feet to try to propel himself through the water. He was also able to submerge while holding his breath (we would blow in his face so he closed his mouth before going under). Our goal with these lessons was to make sure Bennett was comfortable in the water so when he’s a little older, he can take more lessons and learn to hold his breath, kick to the surface and float on his back if he ever encounters an emergency situation. I pray that something like this will never happen, but we spend too much time near the water to not be prepared. By the end of 6 weeks, Bennett not just felt comfortable in the water but actually loves it, and I couldn’t be happier or more proud of him!
My swimsuit is J.Crew and is no longer available, but I found some other navy polka dot one-piece swimsuits here here here and here. Bennett’s rash guard and trunks are Janie & Jack. His exact sailboat swim trunks are sold out, but they have so many other cute patterns here.
Hope you all have an amazing day!
