Bennett's 9 Month Update

Bennett is 9 Months Old!! It’s hard to imagine that 9 months ago I did not know I was pregnant with who would soon be the most loving, sweetest baby boy. I can honestly say he is the happiest baby I’ve ever known. He has the most incredible belly laugh, and I swear he is laughing more than he is not..

Bennett now crawls all over the apartment, and our home has officially been “baby-proofed.” He also loves to stand up when he has something to grab on to. I have a suspicion that his crawling stage will be fleeting since he is so eager to get up and walk. He looks so adorable when he explores the apartment with his confident, coordinated crawl. I was so excited when he learned to crawl, but I think I might shed a few “Where has my baby gone?” tears when he starts walking.

Bennett now has free rein to eat pretty much all food (except for honey). I still have a hard time getting him to eat meat (Not that I blame him since pureed meat is beyond nasty). I was able to get him to successfully eat a scrambled egg over Labor Day Weekend, which was a huge relief since I have been struggling with getting some good protein into his diet. As pitiful of a sleeper he is, Bennett has made up for it with being a fantastic eater. He can really put down some food, and I’m relieved to report he is finally starting to move up the growth curve (he is now in the 7th percentile after lingering below the 2nd percentile since coming home from the hospital). We still make the majority of his food with the Baby Bullet but give him these pouches when we’re away from home.

Things are still the same as far as gadgets. Honestly, Bennett usually prefers playing with his box of wipes to his electronic toys. His absolute favorite activity is still turning pages of books, and his favorite book remains Little Blue Truck. We read Little Blue Truck at least 10 times per day. Our favorite product is still his Inglesina Table Chair. We take it with us whenever we go out to eat. It was a serious game changer because it gives him good support, and I don’t have to worry about wiping down restaurant highchairs wondering if they’ve been properly disinfected.

These pictures were taken on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s campus (Brian’s alma mater) over Labor Day weekend while visiting his family in North Carolina. It pains me to admit this, but UNC Chapel Hill can rival UGA’s North Campus with regard to beautiful campus grounds. It’s pretty interesting how similar both campuses look, which is logical since both universities were built around the same time. It was adorable seeing how excited Brian was to be able to take pictures with Bennett around some of the highlights of campus. We might have a Future Little Tar Heel (class of 2038 on our hands).

There are few things more adorable than a baby in blue jeans. Bennett’s jeans are from Gap, and when I see him in them, I can’t help but giggle. They are so cute!
