I’m all about the beertails lately. I guess it’s on account of historically sticking to beer during football season but still wanting to experiment with fun cocktails to share with you guys!..
I find this time of year to be somewhat awkward. Football and tailgating has started, but I just can’t really get into the pumpkin and spicy notes of Fall with it still being 90 degrees outside. Luckily, this Grapefruit Beertail makes the perfect “it no longer seems like Summer but it’s not quite Fall” compromise.
I posted a beertail last Friday that was super refreshing and made your beer a little lighter by combining it with non-alcoholic ginger beer. But a word of warning, this beertail is definitely not a lighter alcohol option since it also contains gin.
I was a little skeptical on how this drink would turn out since it was my first time combining an IPA and liquor in a cocktail. But trust me, the flavor combination worked beautifully!! It was so refreshing and absolutely perfect for a morning tailgate! I love the mint leaf garnish for an added fresh herbal aroma as well as the prettiness of a grapefruit wedge garnish.
I hope you guys have an amazing weekend! I’m actually doing my eye doctor thing this weekend while Brian takes Bennett to his swim lesson and they spend some quality boy time together. Luckily I’m not missing too big of a Georgia game! Cheers and Go Dawgs!
