When I first saw the forecast of the rainy weekend in store, I got a little down since we had made plans to take Bennett apple picking. However, being stuck inside turned into a weekend of snuggling with my baby boy, watching college football, drinking my favorite Trader Joe’s Spiced Apple Cider and a Sunday dinner of crockpot chili. I was once again reminded of how some of our most memorable family time is when things do not go according to my compulsive scheduling.
The rainy weather meant I could finally take out my Penfield parka! The Penfield Kasson is my favorite all-weather jacket. When I wear it I’m always warm but not hot. I also love that it’s slightly fitted as well as the red color. This parka is an essential in my wardrobe, and it’s rare that you’d catch me on a rainy day without it.
I also couldn’t help but pair my red jacket with my red Hunter Boots. I love the comfort of my Hunters so much that if they’re even forecasting a 10% chance of rain, I’m embarrassed to say, they’re usually on my feet. The traction on Hunters is great which makes me feel comfortable when I’m carrying Bennett in slippery conditions. Plus they make me want to jump in muddy puddles (sorry.. Bennett’s currently obsessed with Peppa Pig).
I hope all you guys enjoyed your weekend no matter the weather you experienced. Although the rain ended up changing our weekend plans, it was so much fun cozying up with my husband and baby boy I quickly got over it and wouldn’t have changed the outcome of the weekend for anything. I hope you guys have a wonderful week! You can shop my rainy day outfit below:
