This past Sunday finally felt like a spring day. Although it was completely ironic since we endured snow and sleet the day before. When I left for work Sunday morning the snow had all but melted with birds splashing around in all that remained of the storm. In fact, it was so nice that Brian and I decided to head to the esplanade later that afternoon to seize one of Boston’s elusive spring days.
Spending some time in the sunshine literally resuscitated us after days upon days of cold dreariness and being confined inside. And, in true form, the streets of Back Bay and the parks along the the Charles were bustling with other Bostonians taking in the beautiful weather.
One of my favorite go-to pieces in the spring is a classic navy blazer. It’s perfect for those barely cool days and will keep you warm when the nights get brisk. I reach for a blazer in the spring since it will suffice as my jacket and adds an element of sophistication to a casual weekend outfit.
One of my favorite ways to wear a navy blazer is with a navy and white striped tee and a pair of skinny jeans. A silk scarf around the neck also adds a classy finishing touch. When I’m wearing my blazer to work I usually pair it with some cropped pants but it would also look lovely with a pair of these khaki colored pants.
I can’t wait for more days like this one. Strolling around the esplanade and finding a place to read while Brian pushes Bennett on the swings. And then ending the evening with a dinner in Back Bay. Spring and summer in Boston are truly magical and make putting up with the merciless winter truly worth it.
Thank you guys so much for visiting! I would love to hear your favorite things to do in Boston in warmer weather (we didn’t get out too much last year when Bennett was still an infant). You can shop my look from this post below!
