Last Saturday I was surprised to get off work a little earlier than expected. Since the weather was in the high 60’s and beautiful, Brian, Bennett and I decided to take a little day trip to Salem, MA. It was my first time in Salem, and although I was disappointed that I didn’t run into the Sanderson sisters, we absolutely LOVED Salem and had the most incredible day.
We started our day in Salem by visiting the monthly Derby Square Flea Market. We had so much fun digging through vintage treasures and getting to talk to some of the locals. Everyone we met in Salem was so warm and friendly!
We then continued to browse through the local boutiques comprising the downtown area as well as visited some historical sites. I am just so infatuated with New England for all its history, and Salem is certainly a prime example of a town that has done an incredible job with its preservation. Although the history of the witch trials Salem is predominately known for is pretty messed up, walking around and seeing structures from the sixteen and seventeen hundreds is absolutely incredible.
We ended our day with a walk around the waterfront (where these photos were taken) and then headed back downtown to The Lobster Shanty (seen on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives) for some ridiculously good lobster rolls. It was pretty much the perfect day.
This oversized blue and white stripe button-down was perfect for our day in Salem. First off, I love blue and white striped anything, and second, oversized boyfriend shirts like this are so versatile in the summer. You can tie it in the front and even wear it as a bathing suit cover-up. It’s pretty much a quintessential summer top.
Thank you guys so much for stopping by, and I hope you’re having a wonderful week. You can shop my look from this post below:
