A few Saturdays ago, the family and I took the short drive to the town of Essex on Cape Ann. We love exploring towns along the Massachusetts’ north shore, but this particular day trip was focused on one thing and that was fulfilling my craving of clams for dinner.
We headed to Woodman’s of Essex, a local spot nestled on the scenic marsh that has had an amazing New England seafood reputation since 1914. They are best known for their fried clams (and reportedly was where the fried clam was invented), but Brian and I chose to chow down on steamers (my favorite type of clam, steamed and served with butter). Clams from Essex are especially delicious because of the quality of the clams found in the tidal river. If you’re in the area, it’s an absolute must-visit plus it’s under 30 miles from Boston! After filling up on clams you can browse around the abundance of antique shops since there are more antique shops per square mile in Essex than anywhere else in the US. It’s the perfect place to hunt for maritime treasure.
I love the bright cheeriness of lemon print, and I’m so glad to be able to find it at some of my favorite retailers this season! This top is from LOFT and even though I loved it paired with my striped midi skirt, I also can’t wait to wear it with some crisp white shorts and jeans for cooler evenings as well.
I finished the look off with a bright orange-red lip, which I thought was a fun complement to the yellow top! It’s a weird combination to think about, but it oddly works!
Thank you all so much for visiting! I hope you have a great day, and you can shop my look from this post below!
