When we were in Southampton over the Fourth, Brian, Bennett and I took the short drive over to Sag Harbor. The charming, once whaling port, is now my favorite Hamptons village. The hamlet is rich in American History and home to some adorable local shops and delicious restaurants. We spent half an hour or so watching some taunting ominous storm clouds skirt the village from a small beach and then walked along the marina before heading to Grindstone for some coffee and donuts.
I love the ambiguity of coastal weather, but the wind really picked up as the clouds were passing so that hat probably wasn’t the best idea. If I had let go of the brim it would have ended up in the bay.
I tend to only pack dresses when on a beach vacation for the ease of throwing on an effortless outfit to quickly start our day. This striped shift from Femme Boutique Boston was perfect for a warm day in a Hamptons village. I love the sophistication of a shift silhouette, and the vertical stripes on this piece flatteringly elongates my body. It is exceptionally comfortable, and I always appreciate a dress with pockets! Plus at under $50 it has an unbelievable price tag! I paired this striped shift with some simple natural colored sandals, a rattan clutch, silk scarf, wood watch and inexpensive straw hat.
Do you guys have any more upcoming summer getaways? My fingers are crossed that we can make it back to Southampton and spend some more time in Sag Harbor Labor Day weekend. You can shop my look from this post below!
