The fall season is so fun and inspiring for making delicious desserts. There is so much I’ve been wanting to do with our haul after we went apple picking a few weeks ago, but first I had to make one of my favorite desserts of all time, an apple crisp. And I made this version truly special by adding cranberries.
The tartness of the cranberries is so delicious amid the sweetness of the rest of the dessert. I love making crisps because they don’t need to be baked as meticulously as a pie, and I think the more imperfect and rustic it looks, the better.
The oat topping on this crisp is absolutely PHENOMENAL! It consists of old-fashioned oats, flour, brown sugar, a pinch of salt, cinnamon and butter. The aroma that emanates from this crisp as you’re mixing the ingredients together and then baking it in the oven is incredible and will fill your heart with all the goodness of fall.
This apple cranberry crisp is super easy to make and I know your family and guests will love it. It’s also a perfect dessert to serve around The Holidays! And don’t forget the scoop of ice cream. I hope you all have an amazing day!
