Brian, the kids and I are taking one more trip out to The Hamptons for the season on Labor Day Weekend. It’s usually bittersweet while we really harness those few days with fun in the water, enjoying the town, the start of college football and the great company of our family, knowing that we are saying goodbye to my favorite place for another year. I plan on picking up a few items for our trip but we’re at the point in the Summer season that I only buy pieces that I can benefit from come Autumn. So, in this post I’m featuring merchandise that you should buy for Labor Day, wear through Fall.
I think I end up including a classic striped tee in all my round-ups since I wear mine so much and feel it is the staple of my wardrobe that most frequently gets replaced. This one would be great for LDW and also worn under a quilted vest in the Fall. This effortless blue and white striped top would be perfect for my weekend getaway and this peplum blouse would be so flattering and is so much more interesting than a traditional button-down. I also think I’m going to take a break from skinny jeans with these high waisted easy fit jeans which I think would look cute with my classic Adidas sneakers on casual days. I always take a denim jacket with me to the beach since it gets cool at night and practically live in it in Autumn. A rust colored corduroy skirt is also such a cute transition piece since come Fall I’m usually tucking in a flannel and wearing it with some equestrian boots. And speaking of things on your feet, I recently bought these feather leather flats and LOVE THEM (see this post). They would look great come Fall with my favorite J.CREW black skinny pixie pants as well as these wide leg pants for a relaxed look. I’m also eyeing these beautiful mary-janes in Almond. I always take a few dresses when heading to Southampton so I have my eyes on this and this floral print dress since the darker hues would still look great in Fall (hello denim jacket)! I also love the beautiful sage color of this shirt dress (how gorgeous would it look with shiny, brown equestrian boots or this taupe leather satchel)! And, finally, I usually purchase a new eyeshadow palette for the Fall season with slightly deeper tones like this one from Charlotte Tilbury in Exaggereyes or Bella Sofia.
