Spring has officially sprung in the northeast and dresses are finally starting to breeze into my wardrobe rotation. We visited family on Long Island this past weekend and the weather was absolutely beautiful. After a cold, snowy winter it felt so great to be able to walk around in a dress and sandals and finally not have to worry about a coat. With the exception of the wind making my hair look like Doc Brown’s from Back to the Future, it was the perfect day.
We went to New York to celebrate my niece’s first birthday and had the best time watching Bennett play with all his cousins. I kept letting him know throughout the week before that we were going to be seeing his cousin James and cousin Stella, and his eyes just remained lit throughout our entire visit.
After the birthday party, we spent some time walking around Cold Spring Harbor where we took these photos. Cold Spring Harbor is the quaintest, most beautiful coastal town on the north shore of Long Island and we always make it a point to stop by and walk around when we’re in town. It’s filled with lovely, locally owned shops and has some pretty amazing restaurants.
I’m so glad I reached for this scallop shirtdress for our day of birthday partying and exploring. A button-down shirtdress is a classic wardrobe staple that can be styled casually with sandals or sneakers during the day as well as with a cute pair of tassel earrings and heels for a dressier occasion. I especially love this one I’m wearing from Banana Republic for the feminine touch of the scallop hem!
I chose to pair my shirtdress with this adorable straw Vera Bradley wristlet. I’m so excited to wear this clutch throughout spring and summer since it will add a pop of color and pattern to my usual solid neutrals and soft colors. I used to collect Vera Bradley bags in college and love where the brand has gone with this fun collection of clutches! It’s also at a pretty great price point!
Hope you are all having a wonderful week so far! You can shop my look from this post below. Thanks so much for visiting!
