Classic Trench Coat Style

Spring is my favorite time to wear a trench coat. There is an element of class a classic trench coat instantly bestows on its wearer, and it’s one of those incredibly versatile wardrobe staples that can be paired with just about anything.

One of my favorite, effortless ways to wear a trench coat is simply over a pair of jeans with a striped top underneath. I’m not sure why the combination makes me so attire-happy, but I believe it’s the contrast of the stripes against the light khaki of the trench.

My trench coat is from Banana Republic and I’ve had it for years. I’ve always found the quality of Banana Republic’s outerwear to be amazing for their prices. I do have to admit that I have a lifetime goal of owning a classic Burberry trench coat as well, but that probably won’t happen for awhile as long as it remains our intention to send our kid to college. 😛

The ridiculous cold we had to bear this past weekend in Boston affirmed that my trench probably won’t get much exercise for another month or so. But I am definitely looking forward to Spring days and nights in this timeless coat.
