This past weekend held one of the best events in Boston, the Head of the Charles Regatta. The HOCR is a huge rowing event that takes place over two days every October. I was only able to attend on Saturday and, unfortunately, had to wait out the rain for most of the event. Luckily there finally was a break in the weather, and we were able to catch the tail end of the race.
Despite the wind and the rain, large crowds gathered to cheer on over 11,000 athletes. The race is another reminder of the devotion and pride of Bostonians when it comes to their sporting events.
The weekend was also special because a dear friend of mine came into town for a visit. I hadn’t seen her since my wedding, and it was amazing to be able to spend time together and have her meet Bennett. I have been the worst traveler since Bennett was born from fear of how he would react being on an airplane, but he proved me completely wrong on our last flight to North Carolina. Now there is no way that amount of time will pass before seeing each other again.
Hearing that temperatures were going to drop on Saturday I made sure my outfit consisted of a few layers. I chose to wear my Banana Republic blazer and button-down. I love the sophistication of pale blue oxford underneath a neutral colored blazer.
I wore my favorite Banana Republic equestrian boots to trudge through the Fall leaves, but there were still so many puddles from the earlier downpour that I probably should have thrown on some rain boots.
The Head of the Charles Regatta is a tradition that allows you to be a spectator of one of the world’s biggest rowing events and New England’s Fall beauty along the picturesque Charles River. I am so thankful that the rain broke in the afternoon so we had a chance to attend this year. We would have been there rain or shine, but it is my understanding that babies and squalls don’t mix.
My outfit is basically head to toe Banana Republic. They can always be counted on for beautiful, classic Fall pieces! Most of my outfit is on sale, and you can shop it below! I hope you all have a great day!
