My baby is 8 months old!! It doesn’t seem real. It feels as though each month keeps passing more and more quickly and before I know it I will be planning his 1st Birthday Party…
He is truly such a joy and, man, what a great age! He now has 4 teeth (2 on top and 2 on bottom), making his smile extra cheesy and amazing! Bennett also started singing in his sleep. I’m not sure exactly what he’s singing, but it’s probably something from The Lion King. Bennett’s biggest accomplishment during his 7th month is he is now standing up (while having something to hold onto)! My day begins with sheer happiness when he wakes up in the morning and I find him standing up, shrieking with laughter, so excited to get out of the crib and start his day!
Although Bennett still loves his electronic interactive toys (he was most recently gifted this Touch & Swipe Baby Phone that he can’t get enough of it), he’s really into his Board Books. I’m not saying my kid’s already some advanced scholar, but if I leave him on the rug with a few books, he turns pages and can entertain himself for an hour. My heart just explodes watching him. Bennett is also crawling for real and said goodbye to his half army crawl.
He’s still doing well eating, and he doesn’t have any apparent food sensitivities. I’m not sure if I mentioned this to you guys, but we cook then purée Bennett’s baby food using the Baby Bullet system. I love the look on his face when he tries new food (and not to be cruel, but its cute whether it’s an “I like it” or “I hate it” face). His favorite food is still bananas. Recently we began puréeing meat for him (gross) and he’s not really into it. We keep trying to get him to eat it, but he prefers his fruits and veggies. If you guys have any tricks on how you got your baby to start eating meat, please let me know! When we’re out and about, Bennett loves his pouches and puffs.
Bennett is a dream when we go out to eat, allowing us to continue our foodie tendencies. He usually just finds a lady at a nearby table to lock eyes and flirt with. We got him this table chair, and it is probably the best baby item we ever purchased. Restaurant highchairs are not very secure for a baby his size (he’s on the smaller side). When he’s in his table chair he is surrounded by fabric, and he has so much more support. It folds up, and we take it with us wherever we go.
Thank you guys for reading this post and keeping up with Bennett! It means so much to us that you continue to check in! Don’t forget to follow us on Snapchat (nicolemariesopp) for more day to day updates!
