Outfit Details- Ralph Lauren White Dress (no longer available but same silhouette and bell sleeves HERE and love THIS ONE with tiered lace) | Banana Republic Shoes | Longchamp Bag | Karen Walker Sunnies
As we round the Ides of March, it is imminent that warmer weather will soon be upon us. And it is about this time of year that I begin to assess my Winter wardrobe and decide what I will keep for another year and what will be given away. With the maturation of my wardrobe and conversion to a more classic and minimalistic style through the years, the amount of clothes and accessories I part with has significantly dwindled. Maintaining a capsule wardrobe for each season ensures you don’t get swept up in wasteful spending on fleeting trends and is much easier on the pocketbook.
Something else I do in my preparedness for Spring is reassess my wardrobe that I begin to gradually take out of storage. If I do not think I will get much use of it in the upcoming months then into the donation bin it goes. I also begin to make sure my Spring / Summer capsule “staples” are still well-fitting and in good condition. One of these essential items I always make sure I have in my closet is a day-to-night white dress. I love wearing white dresses since they are the fashion equivalent of a blank palate and create a bright, clean look. They can also be accessorized in innumerable ways from a floral scarf to something fun on your wrist, straw hat or a colorful bag if you desire.
The dress I’m wearing in these images is the dress I wore to Austyn’s Christening in December, and I can’t wait to continue wearing it in Spring and Summer. It is by Ralph Lauren, and although this exact style is no longer available, this one has the same flattering silhouette with bell sleeves and this one has the most beautiful tiered lace. I also found some other white dresses by a few other of my favorite designers that I would love to have in my closet and organized them according to price point below.
